Evaluations for Occupational Therapy

We offer screenings that assess your child’s strengths and weaknesses so we can develop an optimized treatment plan. Early screenings can also help identify potential problems and challenges in some children.

An evaluation can better determine a child’s needs and areas where occupational therapy can benefit them. We will also perform an Assessment of Motor and Process Skills to get an understanding of your child’s ability to perform daily tasks, such as feeding or dressing.

During an evaluation, we’ll assess your child in the following areas:

• Fine motor & handwriting skills
• Gross motor & balance/coordination skills
• Visual motor skills
• Sensory integration
• Motor planning skills
• Oral motor skills
• Self-help skills (feeding & dressing)
• Vision & perception

We can also assess your child’s needs for pediatric physical therapy, speech therapy, and ABA therapy.

We build skill development, confidence, and independence through fun and meaningful activities. Your child’s occupational therapist will help them practice everyday tasks that hone in on their weaknesses and improve their self-sufficiency. Our occupational therapy activities and services include and focus on the following:

• Sensory issues related to touch, taste, sounds, & sight

We teach children healthy ways to cope with stress and how to react to changes in their environment. We also engage parents and families so children can continue to develop their skills at home.
